Residence Inn $$

Spacious rooms and suites near the water on the eastern side, convenient and walking distance to the ferry. A little outside the center, but an easy walk also to the heart of Old Port. Fun fact, I left a watch there once and didn’t realize it was missing until a few days later. I called and they had it and returned it to me via UPS. For that reason, I usually always stay here. Free breakfast, but The Friendly Toast is not far if you want something better.

AC Hotel $$

Modern, clean, and relatively new. This hotel is right across the street from the residence Inn; a couple steps closer to the ferry. It is very European in style including square toilet seats.

Hilton Garden Inn $$

This hotel is closest to the ferry right across the street. I have never stayed here but usually reliable and easy walk to attractions and restaurants.

Courtyard $$

Comfortable and well located more towards the western end of town. It is probably the longest walk to the ferry of all the hotels at about 11 minutes. You are walking distance to Becky Diners, an iconic breakfast spot where the lobsterman start there day.

Portland Harbor Hotel $$$

Very charming hotel in the middle of Old Port. A little more pricey usually, but worth a look.

New hotel on the western side of town with a very modern style. This is a hip chic hotel, and it is where the Luna Rooftop Bar is located. It is about a 10-minute walk to the ferry.

The Press Hotel $$$$

Boutique, stylish, and one of the most distinctive places to stay in Portland. Walkable to everything on the border of Old Port and Downtown. It is a 10-minute walk to the ferry.
